Farmiez started with a simple question:
Why is it easier to order eggs from a warehouse 1,000 miles away than from the neighbor down the street?
- Like a lot of people, we wanted better food for our families—fresher, more local, and grown by people who care. But we also saw a bigger opportunity: to reconnect communities through the most timeless form of commerce—sharing what we grow.
- It began in Virginia, where backyard chicken keepers were quietly collecting more eggs than they could eat, and neighbors were asking, “Hey, can I buy a dozen?” From that humble, everyday exchange, the idea for Farmiez was born: a hyperlocal marketplace where small-scale growers can list what they produce and nearby families can shop fresh without the middleman.
